New Orleans Saints star Tyrann Mathieu wasn’t happy with the Philadelphia Eagles after last week’s game, getting involved with the opposing team’s sideline and speaking about the altercation after the fact.
One of the players who earned the ire of Mathieu was Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who also had plenty of things to say after the game.
Fast forward to now, it’s Gardner-Johnson who is receiving a fine letter from the NFL over a cheap shot on Saints running back Alvin Kamara, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
That one will undoubtedly frustrate Saints fans, all things considered—Kamara has been a staple of the injury report all week with multiple issues making his outlook for Week 4 cloudy.
As for Gardner-Johnson, he’s now been fined in two consecutive games and will undoubtedly be one of those guys Saints players want to see the most if they manage to link up again in the playoffs.
To do so, though, the Saints will need Kamara back on the field and in that elite form he showed over the first two weeks of the season. But that will only happen if the endless wave of injuries stops assaulting the offensive line.
