Red Sox veteran calls for front office to add players in the offseason image

Boston Red Sox veteran Trevor Story has called for the team to add over the offseason, per Alex Speier. He thinks it’s the perfect time to do it with the current team composition.

“We’re the Boston Red Sox. I think [adding] is what you expect. We’d love to see that be the case. Hopefully, now that we have a pretty solid core of young guys, it’s a perfect opportunity to add.”

The Red Sox have missed the playoffs for the past three years, but they have finally built a young core that is good, and can be built around. Their needs are also clear now, and they have the money to meet those needs.

Boston’s CBO Craig Breslow, CEO Sam Kennedy, and manager Alex Cora have promised a great offseason, and that the team will be contenders next year. If players are even calling for it, Sox fans should be getting excited.

All the Sox need to do is get a couple righty hitters, some relievers, and an ace for the starting rotation. If they can check all those boxes, there is no reason why they won't be playing October baseball next season.
