The Boston Red Sox Chief of Baseball Operations Craig Breslow, Chief Executive Officer Sam Kennedy, and manager Alex Cora did an interview yesterday on the future of the team. According to them, they promised fans that their patience will be rewarded next season.
Starting off, Kennedy stated in response to a question by Chris Cotillo that the Sox haven’t changed what they consider a successful season. Cotillo followed up by asking what was a successful season, to which Kennedy replied, “October baseball”.
Breslow encouraged fans to believe in them. “We asked our fans to sacrifice a lot to be patient as we build the foundation that would enable us to meet those goals. I think we’re here. I think we’re ready to deliver.”
Kennedy followed up on what Breslow said and reinforced it. “I can assure you that the feeling is that our fans have been through a lot, they’ve been patient. It’s time to get back to where we belong.”
Sox fans have been skeptical of the front office due to the pain of the last three seasons, but this time it seems the front office is actually ready to come to play for the first time in a long time.
