Fans of the Boston Red Sox have noticed something with the recent Red Sox teams; they were 6th, 13th and 11th in payroll for the past three seasons. In all their World Series wins in the 2000s, they were top three in all of them.
When the Red Sox won their World Series titles, they ranked 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, and 1st in payroll respectively.
