Houston is ready for liftoff.

The Texans look to build on the momentum of their surprising rise this past season to the top of the AFC South in the hopes of furthering their goals of contending for a Super Bowl. General manager Nick Caserio certainly did as much as he could in one offseason that included a lot of spending in free agency, a few major trades and fortifying roster holes through the 2024 NFL Draft.

The entire schedule will be released on May 15 at 8:15 p.m. but the Texans' 2024 opponents have already been revealed by the nature of how their 2023 season ended. Houston will play all the first-place teams in the AFC (the Bills, Chiefs and the Ravens) as well as the rest of their division (the Jaguars, Titans and the Colts) as well as the rest of AFC East (the Jets, the Dolphins and the Patriots, the NFC North (the Vikings, the Packers, the Lions and the Bears) as well as the Cowboys.

A few of the biggest games have already been announced, including some Texans opponents, meaning the schedule is slowly but surely shaping up. The major additions of Stefon Diggs, Joe Mixon and Danielle Hunter mean the Texans could see more primetime action, especially with Year 2 of defending NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud.

Here are all the latest rumblings around the Texans' 2024 NFL schedule:

Houston Texans 2024 schedule leaks tracker: The latest news, rumors

Week 1

The Texans won't play the Chiefs, Ravens, Cowboys, Jets or Packers in Week 1, as all of their matchups have been announced. Kansas City will host Baltimore in the season-opener, while New York will play in San Francisco against the 49ers on Monday Night Football. Dallas heads to Cleveland to play the Browns in Tom Brady's broadcast debut.

The Packers, meanwhile, head to Brazil to play the Eagles.

Week 2

The Bills and Dolphins will face off in Week 2, meaning neither will play the Texans in Houston. The Chiefs will play the Bengals in Week 2 as well, so they're off the docket for the Texans' second game of the season.

No international games

A few Texans opponents were scheduled for international games, but none drew Houston. The Jaguars take on the Bears and Patriots, while the Vikings face the Jets. All three of those games are in London. The Packers' Brazil game is against the Eagles.

Week 4

There are reports the Texans will travel to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars in AFC South clash.

Week 5

The Jets and the Vikings play each other in Week 5, so neither can play the Texans.

Week 6

The Jaguars and Bears play each other in Week 6, meaning the Texans won't see either team.

Week 7 at Packers

The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman reported that the Packers will host the Texans in Green Bay on Oct. 20 at 1 pm ET.

The Jaguars, Patriots and Chiefs are off the table here. Jacksonville and New England play each other in London, while Kansas City plays the 49ers in a Super Bowl rematch.

Week 9 at Jets on Thursday Night Football

The New York Post's Brian Costello reported the Texans will travel to MetLife Stadium on Nov. 7 to face the Jets for a Halloween match on Thursday Night Football.

Week 11 at Cowboys on Monday Night Football

Sports Radio 610's Shaun Bijani reported that the battle for Texas will be played on Monday Night Football in Week 11. The Texans travel to nearby Arlington to take on the Cowboys in the much-anticipated match between C.J. Stroud and Dak Prescott.

Week 16

There is a belief the Texans will play the Chiefs on Saturday, Dec. 21 in Kansas City. As reporter Cody Stoots hypothesized, the four teams who play on Christmas will play their Week 16 match on Saturday before. The Chiefs also play on Christmas, meaning they could fit this slot as well.

Week 17 vs Ravens on Christmas Day

Houston will host the Ravens in Week 17 on Christmas Day, the NFL confirmed Wednesday afternoon. Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz had previously reported. Christmas is on Wednesday this year, which could affect how the rest of the schedule looks before this week. It will be streamed exclusively on Netflix the same day as the Steelers host the Chiefs.
