How much money did the Texans spend in 2024 free agency? image

NFL teams spent billions of dollars in free agency this offseason to upgrade at positions of need ahead of the 2024 season.

The Texans were one of the teams who spent lavishly. Houston entered the offseason with almost $70 million in salary cap space and also did some contract restructuring to open up more space.

Between a massive deal for edge rusher Danielle Hunter and substantial contracts for Azeez Al-Shaair and Denico Autry, general manager Nick Caserio didn't hold back from trying to make some franchise-altering moves and the Texans ended up spending the sixth-most money in free agency, per Over the Cap.

Now, the Texans made these moves with a purpose in mind for your present and future. The deals all have outs after the 2025 season, just in time for potential long-term extensions for C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson Jr. and Derek Stingley Jr. However, the money allocated to this year is among the highest in the NFL.

Here's where Houston ranks among the rest of the NFL's free-agency spending
