New York Jets 2024 schedule leaks tracker: Primetime game rumors, news and more image

The 2024 regular season will feature the much-anticipated return of Aaron Rodgers to the field.

Rodgers' Jets debut as the team's starting quarterback entered in sadness when he suffered a torn Achilles four snaps into a Monday night matchup against the Bills. While he flirted with a return throughout the 2023 season, Rodgers should be fully healthy for his second season opener with the Jets.

When and where that will be is anyone's guess, though. The NFL plans to announce the full slate of 2024 games on May 15. We know the Chiefs and Ravens will kick off the season in Kansas City, but the rest of the schedule remains a mystery.

However, the NFL did announce the Jets will begin their season on the road in San Francisco against the 49ers on Monday Night Football. New York will also play in London against the Vikings for Week 5 on Oct. 6.

The only other thing we know for sure about the Jets is which teams they will definitely play this season. We just don't know at what point in the season or at what times the games will be held. Based on 2023 records and implied win totals, the Jets should have one of the easiest schedules in the league this season.

Here are the latest leaks, rumors and rumblings around the Jets' 2024 NFL schedule.

New York Jets 2024 schedule leaks tracker: The latest news, rumors

Week 1 at 49ers

The Jets officially open their season on the road in San Francisco against the 49ers. The game will be played on Sept. 9 at 8:15 p.m. on Monday Night Football on ESPN. It's the second consecutive MNF season-opener for New York.

49ers tight end George Kittle hinted at the possible Week 1 showdown on his Instagram page on Monday before the official announcement Tuesday morning.

This game has a lot of storylines already. Head coach Robert Saleh would return to his old club where he made a name for himself as a defensive coordinator. Aaron Rodgers would also face the team he lost to in the 2021 NFC divisional round and 2019 NFC title games. Both teams feature two of the best defenses in the NFL as well. And then there are the Deebo Samuel and Malachi Corley comparisons that'll undoubtedly be discussed all game. This would be a fun season-opener.

Jets Week 2 potential opponents

All we know about the Jets' Week 2 opponent is it won't be the 49ers, Dolphins or Bills. The 49ers are Week 1, while the Dolphins and Bills play each other in Week 2 on Thursday Night Football.

Week 3 vs. Patriots on Thursday Night Football

Patriots reporter Ben Belford-Peltzman believes the Jets will host the Patriots in MetLife on Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. The New York Post's Brian Costello also reported this primetime matchup.

Week 5 vs. Vikings in London

The Jets will officially play in London this year against the Vikings. New York will take on Minnesota on Oct. 6 at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network. The game will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Rodgers last played the Giants there in 2022, his final season with the Packers, and a loss against the other New York team.

The Jets are 1-1 in international games: New York lost to the Falcons in 2021 and beat the Dolphins in 2015.

Week 6 vs. Bills on Monday Night Football

The Jets could get a mini-bye after the London game when they return home to face the Bills in their second Monday night matchup of the year, according to Costello.

Week 7 at Steelers on Sunday Night Football

Costello also reported the Jets will stay on primetime in Week 7 for a road match with the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

Week 9 vs. Texans on Thursday Night Football

The Jets could get a second Thursday night game, this time on Halloween against the Texans, per Costello.

Week 11 vs. Colts on Sunday Night Football

Six primetime games? Yes, Costello believes the Jets' six and final primetime match of the season will come in Week 11 at home against the Colts on Sunday Night Football.
