ESPN has just released their win projections for the NBA, and have the Boston Celtics sitting atop the Eastern Conference once again. They project the Celtics will have 52 wins this upcoming season.
This is a lot less than last season, where the Celtics had a league-leading 64 wins. However, their conference has gotten much stronger.
The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers have added to their rosters, with the Knicks getting Mikal Bridges and Karl Anthony-Towns, and the Sixers getting Paul George.
However, the Celtics managed to keep their superstars, extend them, and get them even more help. They signed role-players, and drafted another key 3&D player in Baylor Scheierman.
The Celtics are also pumped up to try and go back to back this year, after winning the NBA Finals last year. Critics called their road incredibly easy, and superstars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had a ton of summer controversy, so they are eager to prove everyone wrong.
Finally, ESPN projected the Celtics to win 55 games last season, and they won nine more than that. No one really knows how the team will do until the ball is tipped on opening night.
