With a little over a week of baseball left, fans of the Boston Red Sox want the team to bring up its top pitching prospect, Quinn Priester. This comes after the team brought up its other top pitching prospect, Richard Fitts, who is doing good at the Major League level. Priester has also been tearing it up in the minors.

In his final start with the Worcester Red Sox, Priester went five innings, gave up three hits and two runs, and struck out seven. He walked one, and threw 17 whiffs as well.

In his last four starts, he has been just as strong. He posted a 2.45 ERA, an 11.8 K/9, and a 2.5 BB/9. This is honestly a more solid statline than some of the pitchers on Boston’s roster.

Fans said they wanted to see him next week, which is a pretty good idea. After the Sox return from Toronto, they will face the Tampa Bay Rays, who have a .231 batting average on the season. This would definitely be a good team to use to build confidence at the major league level. The Sox could also shut down a couple pitchers from the main roster to start resting right away.

Even if he doesn’t come up this season, Priester is going to grow a lot over the offseason, and it would not be surprising if he made the major league team at that time. Or, he joins a little after the next season starts..
