Red Sox star shortstop reveals Sox All-Star Jarren Duran inspired him while he was on the IL image

Boston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story was interviewed last night after the 2-1 win against the Tampa Bay Rays, a game where he was a big contributor. He scored both runs, one with a homer and one as the runner, and swiped two bags. He told reporters he took inspiration from Jarren Duran on those swipes.

“Just play like Jarren (Duran), that’s the mindset you know,” said Story. “Watching him really inspires me as I’m away from the team, I’m like, ‘man, that’s the way to play baseball’, and that’s a good way to produce runs when you’re not slugging. Gotta give credit where it’s due there.”

In that game, Story went 2-3 for three with a single, homer, and two stolen bases. He has also provided some much needed defense at shortstop, and made some ridiculous plays.

Hopefully he can elevate his game back to his Colorado Rockies days, and become another right-handed slugger for the Sox.
