Today is already a day that will have its place in New York Jets' franchise history, but will there be even more reason to remember October 8?
While the Jets relieved Robert Saleh of his head coaching duties on Tuesday morning, the stunning move did nothing to quiet the Davante Adams trade speculation. With Adams and the Las Vegas Raiders seemingly in an irreparable relationship, a reunion between the wide receiver and Jets' starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems more plausible by the day.
As rumors run rampant, Adams mysteriously canceled his scheduled Tuesday appearance on the Up & Adams Show. Host Kay Adams (no relation to Davante) broke the news via social media on Monday night.
"Oh boy - lots happening at the moment with our guy Adams … he won’t be on TOMORROW. Sorry bout that and stay tuned. 👀," said Adams in an X post.
So, why exactly is Adams unable to appear on the live weekday program hosted by former NFL Network personality Kay Adams? Is a trade to New York imminent and he doesn't want to answer questions until it actually happens?
During last week's show appearance, Adams the host asked Adams the receiver if he misses being teammates with Rodgers.
"How could you not?" said the three-time All-Pro First Team WR.
The Raiders want to deal Adams, and the Jets seemingly both want and need the All-Pro talent who has a record of success playing with Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
In another notable development, Rodgers won't be making his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday afternoon. It has been pushed back to Wednesday.
Will they be teammates again the next time we hear from Adams and Rodgers?
