Aaron Rodgers likes his cadence and he likes his head coach, too.
The New York Jets' future Hall-of-Fame quarterback was seemingly in a disagreement with head coach Robert Saleh over the philosophy of instilling a hard-count cadence as standard operating procedure.
Prior to this perceived point of contention, there were questions raised about the relationship between Rodgers and Saleh resulting from an awkward on-camera embrace/subtle shove during the September 19 victory over the New England Patriots.
Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, addressed his relationship with the head coach straight on during his weekly Pat McAfee Show appearance.
"There's always gonna be messaging and narratives out there," said Rodgers.
The 40-year-old field general insisted that he's cool with his head coach despite any externally perceived notions that suggest otherwise.
"Rob and I have a great relationship. We have since Day 1 when I got here. We have text message conversations, threads that we're in, conversations about a number of topics outside of football. We got a good friendship," said Rodgers.
On Wednesday, Saleh confirmed his admiration for the all-time great while addressing reporters prior to practice in Florham Park.
"Aaron and I are fantastic. Love the guy," said Saleh.
