Zack Moss injury: NFL insider provides update on Cincinnati Bengals RB image

Cincinnati Bengals running back Zack Moss had quite an injury scare during the heartbreaking 41-38 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

With just under four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Moss went down with an ankle injury that appeared to be somewhat significant.

The veteran running back was tackled by Ravens outside linebacker Odafe Oweh with the former's ankle getting trapped as he was brought to the ground.

Moss was able to return just a few plays later but then left again so it was unclear how serious the injury was. However, there was a further update Monday afternoon.

Zack Moss injury update

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Moss did avoid a serious injury, and it wound up being more of a scare than anything else.

"Bengals RB Zack Moss (ankle) is believed to be OK, sources say. Got twisted in an awkward way, returned to the game and then left again but seems to be mostly a scare," Garafolo posted on X.

This is good news for Moss and the Bengals rushing attack. The veteran has been splitting time with second-year back Chase Brown, who has been the more productive player over the last two weeks.

Moss struggled against a tough Ravens run defense, gathering 24 rushing yards on nine attempts. However, he did add three receptions for 28 yards as a receiver.

The Bengals will likely provide a better update later in the week when the injury reports come out, so this will be one to monitor as Cincinnati prepares for a prime-time bout against the New York Giants in East Rutherford.
