The Cincinnati Bengals defense took another major hit following Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, starting cornerback Dax Hill suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
The No. 31 overall pick from the 2022 NFL Draft was enjoying a solid season as a starter on the boundary for the majority of his third campaign.
According to Pro Football Focus, Hill allowed 11 receptions on 19 targets (57.9%) for 95 yards, one touchdown, one pass breakup and an 88.7 passer rating in coverage.
The Bengals defense has struggled to find its groove this season under defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.
They've allowed the 12th-most yards per play (5.6), the third-most rushing yards (757) and passing touchdowns (10), and the second-most points scored (145) this season.
With Hill expected to miss the rest of the season, the Bengals will have to rely on the depth in the cornerback room. That includes DJ Turner and Josh Newton on the outside.
This is a huge blow to an already struggling Bengals defense so it wouldn't be a surprise if Cincinnati looked to add some depth to the secondary.
