New York Yankees ace and Cy Young winner Gerrit Cole was getting interviewed for Hispanic Heritage Media Day, and was asked which Latino hitter gave him the most trouble. His answer was instant: Boston Red Sox slugger Rafael Devers.

Devers is an amazing hitter when not facing Cole as well. His averages for his career are .281/.346/.514/.859, and he has 200 homers in his eight-year career. However, when he faces Cole, he ascends to new heights.

When facing Cole, Devers’ averages shoot up to .333/.395/.974/1.370, and has 13 hits, eight of them homers, in 15 games against him. Devers has also knocked in 18 runs against Cole.

Cole is no slouch either, it’s just Devers is his kryptonite. His career stats are a 3.17 ERA, a 151-79 record, and over 2200 strikeouts.

Devers and the Red Sox will host the Baltimore Orioles for the final time this season and the rubber match today at 7:10pm EST. The Sox will go to New York for the final series against each other tomorrow at 7:10pm EST.
