The Boston Red Sox lose 2-0 to the Toronto Blue Jays, and lose the series. The Sox’s offense was nonexistent this game, only getting two hits.
Kutter Crawford was the starter, and he pitched a gem. Going almost seven innings, he only gave up two runs. This would be a great start for a pitcher, however the Sox offense didn’t capitalize on it. They didn’t even bother to show up. Missing the bats of Rafael Devers and David Hamilton definitely hurt the quality of the Sox offense as well.
Former Sox pitcher Rich Hill also made his first appearance this season for the Sox, and it was a great inning. Hill didn’t give up a hit, and struck out two batters. Hill is now also the lone player in the MLB to play at least one game in the past 20 seasons.
The Sox will be playing in Detroit against the Tigers tomorrow at 6:40pm EST.
Rich Hill is the only player to appear in at least 1 MLB game in each of the last 20 seasons (2005-24).
