Red Sox fans believe a playoff appearance hinges on the next two series image

Fans of the Boston Red Sox believe that their team’s playoff chances are hanging in the balance, and the games that will decide if they get to play in October are the two series in this roadtrip.

The Red Sox have been a great road team this year, and one of, if not the best road team in the MLB. They have a 34-24 road record, and a miserable 29-32 home record. Historically, the Red Sox are one of the best teams at home because they play at the most iconic park in baseball, Fenway Park. However, this year is not like any other.

Their first series is against the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles are tied first in the division with the New York Yankees, and are one of the best teams in baseball. The Sox are 1-5 against the O’s, so a series win would be huge.

Their second series is against the Houston Astros, who just swept them in Fenway two series ago. This is their chance for revenge, and a sweep here would definitely put the Sox in a good spot for the Wildcard.

The Red Sox start their road trip against the Orioles tonight at 6:35pm EST.
