The Boston Red Sox just suffered their third pitching loss this series, causing fans to start thinking about looking forward to next season.

The starting pitcher for the Sox today was James Paxton, who injured himself five pitches in with a right calf strain. He is the third pitcher the Sox have lost this series. The other two were Brayan Bello, who is on the paternity list, and Cooper Criswell, who is on the Covid list.

The Sox have struggled all year with pitching, and at the deadline they tried to change that by bringing in a couple of bullpen guys and Paxton to fill the fifth starter spot, but it seems like they cannot win. Right when they seem to have fixed the problem, new ones arise.

The Sox should have done more at the deadline, as they can win now, but a lot of the trades they wanted to make had to include some of their top prospects which they were not willing to let go of.

Hopefully the Sox find their groove in the next series against the Texas Rangers at Fenway tomorrow at 7:10pm EST.
