The Indian team led by captain Rohit Sharma visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence in New Delhi, after returning from their T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados.

PM Modi who had taken note of the Indian captain's Ric Flair-like strutting walk when he went to collect the World Cup trophy, curiously asked Rohit whose idea it was to execute that gesture.

Rohit had received the trophy from Jay Shah in a fashion that was similar to the walk that Lionel Messi attempted after Argentina's victory at the FIFA World Cup 2022. It is originally an iconic walk performed by the WWE legend Ric Flair.

Whose suggested Rohit Sharma to do the iconic trophy walk at the T20 World Cup 2024?

As the Indian players were engaged in a conversation with PM Narendra Modi residence at his residence, Rohit Sharma was asked about his special trophy walk, that caught the attention of many fans at the T20 World Cup Final ceremony.

The Indian captain said that "everyone told me to not go to the stage in a simple fashion," which is when PM Modi jokingly interrupted and asked him if it was Yuzvendra Chahal, a known trickster in the team, who was behind the idea to do the walk.

Rohit revealed that it was not only Chahal but also his spin-partner, Kuldeep Yadav, who had together suggested it as they were going to collect their winning medals.

As soon as the clip of the trophy walk went viral on social media, the WWE superstar Ric Flair himself jumped into the conversation and posted on X, while tagging the Indian skipper with the caption: "Taking a page out of my playbook!"

The Indian team then celebrated their massive win with a victory parade in Mumbai, which was attended by a huge crowd of passionate fans. Later the World Cup champions were facilitated with a 125 Cr cheque by the BCCI at the Wankhede stadium.
