The Indian badminton contingent will be competing at the Paris Olympics 2024 with a strong arsenal of players. 29-year-old shuttler and two-time Olympic medalist, PV Sindhu will be leading the Indian charge, and once again will be a top medal contender in the Women’s division.

Apart from Sindhu, the only other Indian badminton player to win a medal at the Olympic Games is Saina Nehwal. Nehwal became the first Indian to win an Olympic medal in the badminton event after she clinched bronze at the London 2012 Olympics. Unfortunately, she won’t be competing in Paris this year.
India will be entering Paris with a star-studded badminton squad consisting of four players competing in the Men’s division and three in Women's category.

Men Singles
HS Prannoy who’s seeded at number 13 and Lakshya Sen, seeded at number 19 are the only two male individuals to be competing in the Men’s Singles division at the Paris Olympics. Lakshya will be facing many competitive opponents in his group as compared to Prannoy.
Unfortunately, even if the two make it past the group rounds, they’re likely to face each other in the Round of 16.

Women’s Singles
PV Sindhu is the only female athlete to represent the Indian tri-colour in the women’s singles badminton event in Paris. She is currently seeded at 10th and is placed in a fairly easy group. Sindhu won silver in Rio 2016 and bronze in Tokay 2020. The star shuttler will be aiming to bag the gold this time around.
She will also be India’s flag bearer at the event alongside veteran table tennis player, Achanta Sharath Kamal.

Men’s Doubles
The pair of Swastikraj Ranikreddy and Chirag Shetty will be competing in the men’s doubles badminton event in Paris. The duo is currently ranked at number 3 in the world and carry massive hopes of a medal on their shoulders. They have been in brilliant form this year, having won the Thailand Open and French Open. They also finished as runners-up in the Malaysian Open and Indian Open.

Women’s Doubles
The duo of Ashwini Ponappa and Tanisha Crasto will be leading the Indian charge in the women’s doubles badminton event in Paris. The duo haven’t been in the best of forms lately with a place in the quarter-final of the Thailand Open being their best finish this year. Despite the losses, they would be hoping to pull off a miracle in Paris.
