The Seattle Seahawks are heading into their Week 3 matchup with the Miami Dolphins a bit banged up for this early in the season. A ton of players missed practice to begin this week on Wednesday and a large group of players were limited yesterday.
Here are the most-notable takeaways from Thursday's injury report for the Seahawks.
DK Metcalf
We'll begin with the good news. Wide receiver DK Metcalf was one of nine players who did not participate during Wednesday's practice. Metcalf was listed as a DNP with a hand injury. However, Metcalf was just fine yesterday, being listed among five "full" participants along with guards Laken Tomlinson and Anthony Bradford, receiver/returner Laviska Shenault Jr. and linebacker Tyrel Dodson. Metcalf will play against Miami.
Kenneth Walker III
Now the bad news: starting running back Ken Walker appears to be on his way to missing his second straight game. Walker suffered an oblique injury late in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos and has not practiced since. That trend continued yesterday, as Walker was a DNP along with edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu, safety K'Von Wallace and nose tackles Jarran Reed and Johnathan Hankins. Zach Charbonnet will start again if Walker is out.
Tyler Lockett, Noah Fant
The biggest bunch of names on yesterday's injury report was the "limited" group, which had 10 players on it. That includes wide receiver Tyler Lockett, who's still dealing with his training camp thigh issue and tight end Noah Fant, who has a lingering toe injury. Lockett has played through his injury and played well. Fant not so much, as he's earned the lowest PFF grade for any starter on offense. Both are expected to continue toughing it out going into Week 3. Devon Witherspoon, Leonard Williams, Boye Mafe, George Fant, Pharaoh Brown, Derick Hall, Brady Russell and Jerome Baker were also listed as limited.
Update: Walker is listed as doubtful for Week 3.
