Calvin Anderson's time with the New England Patriots wasn't exactly the best part of his life.
New England signed Anderson to a two-year contract in 2023 following a four-year stint with the Denver Broncos. The Patriots hoped the offensive tackle that they actually signed as an undrafted free agent in 2019 out of Texas, would compete for a starting job.
However, after missing the start of the season due to malaria, Anderson played in just five games, starting two of them.
Then, this offseason, New England once again had hopes of him competing with some new additions (Chukwuma Okorafor and Caedan Wallace) for a starting job again, but injuries and poor play stopped that dream.
Anderson was placed on injured reserve at the end of training camp, and New England released him with an injury settlement late last week.
On Monday, Anderson penned a heartwarming farewell to the Patriots and their fan base.
Thank you New England!

I retain nothing but love and appreciation for the @Patriots , my teammates and the incredible fans for this chapter.
I genuinely wish I could’ve had more of an impact, but everything happens for a reason 🙏🏿♥️
I’ll always be a supporter.
With the state of New England's offensive line heading into the year, this may not be the last time he gets to call himself a Patriot, but this was very cool of him.
