The New England Patriots will be taking on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday afternoon at Paycor Stadium, but they may be without a few players.
On Friday, they released their injury report with game statuses which included guard Sidy Sow being listed as out and running back Antonio Gibson and Vederian Lowe as questionable.
However, on Saturday, New England added safety Jabrill Peppers to the injury report with a hip injury, and he's now listed as questionable for the contest.
Peppers, 28, took on a starting role in the Patriots secondary in 2023 and was rewarded with an extension this offseason. He was also named a captain by his teammates for the first time.
If Peppers can't go on Sunday, Kyle Dugger will probably have to line up next to Jaylinn Hawkins, Dell Pettus or Brenden Schooler throughout the game. Cornerbacks Marcus Jones and Jonathan Jones also have experience at safety.
Considering Cincinnati could be without Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr chase this weekend, New England's defensive backs may not be tested so frequently in Week 1. However, it would be better to have Peppers on gameday.
