Later this week, we will finally get the Las Vegas Raiders' exact 2024 schedule, with reports suggesting that the full slate for the Raiders and the rest of the NFL will be released on Wednesday, May 15.
While we don't have the exact dates and times for each of the Raiders' games, we do know who they're set to face, something that has been set since the end of the 2023 regular season.
Here's a reminder of the Raiders' 2024 opponents:
Home (8): Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars
Away (9): Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams
The Raiders had a whopping five primetime games in 2023. Here are four contests that could be played on the national stage in 2024.
Raiders' potential primetime games
1. New Orleans Saints (away)
Derek Carr will face the Raiders for the first time since Las Vegas benched him in 2022 and then let him walk in free agency in 2023, leading to his signing with the Saints.
Carr, who had a rough go of it in his first campaign in New Orleans, joked earlier this offseason that he plans on trying to bait Raiders star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby.
"I am looking forward to it," Carr said. "I cannot wait. And, hopefully, I'm going to try to start a fight with (Crosby) and punch him and then have the ref only see him throw his punch back."
2. Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes and the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs are always worthy of a primetime game, no matter the opponent.
But when you throw in the fact that this is a divisional matchup between last year's first- and second-place teams in the AFC West, that makes it even more likely one of the Raiders' two matchups with Kansas City gets a primetime slot.
3. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are coming off a 5-12 season but made a huge splash with the hiring of head coach Jim Harbaugh, who makes his return to the NFL after coaching at Michigan for the last nine years. Los Angeles also has one of the best young quarterbacks in the league in Justin Herbert.
The Chargers will be looking for some revenge after the Raiders walloped them 63-21 in Week 15 last season, a game that was in prime time.
4. Atlanta Falcons (home)
The Falcons made a pair of big additions to their quarterbacks room this offseason, with the team inking veteran Kirk Cousins to a monster deal and then shockingly drafting Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Cousins has been a magnet for primetime games during his career, with the veteran playing 36 such contests. He'll likely add to that total this year, which makes it possible the Raiders see the Falcons in prime time.
