Offensive linemen do more than just pass protect and block for the run. They also serve as security guards for the rest of their smaller, less goon-ish teammates. If a quarterback gets hit after the whistle by a defender, you can bet a couple of large lineman will intervene and punish the offender if they can. Sometimes that protection extends beyond the football field.
In this case, Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil has come to the defense of wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who was involved in a scuffle at Wednesday' training camp practice. Here's how an anoymous blue check NFL content account described Diggs' role in the fight.
Texans WR Stefon Diggs was in the middle of a fight at Training Camp today.

While it's technically accurate that Diggs was in the middle of it, it's also completely backwards. If anything Diggs was the victim, as it was an unnecessarily hard hit by safety Jimmie Ward on Diggs that started the whole thing. That makes this a lie, which is exactly how Tunsil described it.
lol lies!

Despite his prowess, Diggs came to Houston with a reputation as a diva, but thus far every review from his teammates has been overwhelmingly positive. Just yesterday quarterback C.J. Stroud praised Diggs both for his work ethic and his personality.
We would say hopefully this is the end of the whole barrage of negative narratives about Diggs, but the truth is lies are nothing if not persistent - especially in the wasteland formerly known as Twitter.
