What went down in London last week was anything but a vintage Aaron Rodgers performance. Buffalo Bills' starting cornerback Rasul Douglas can vouch for that.
The New York Jets' quarterback was intercepted three times, including one Pick 6, in a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. It was a rare sequence of events as Rodgers has become known for his wildly favorable touchdown-to-interception ratio. He was picked off only once over the first four games before the aberration across the pond.
In three seasons (2019-21) working with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, Rodgers threw 111 TD passes and 13 interceptions while winning two NFL MVP awards. In his career to date, he has accounted for 482 touchdown passes and 109 interceptions.
Douglas, Rodgers's Green Bay Packers teammate in 2021 and 2022, had the benefit of seeing the future Hall-of-Fame field general operate up close and personal.
"I played him before, before I was his teammate. It's different when you're playing against him and you got the scouting report like this is who he is. Then, actually like seeing in practice, you just understand this is why he's considered one of the best quarterbacks of all time," said Douglas, who has assumed the Bills' CB1 role since being the Packers traded him to Buffalo last autumn.
Douglas, who made five regular season starts as a rookie for the eventual Super Bowl LII champion Philadelphia Eagles, isn't expecting any easy interceptions against Rodgers on Monday Night Football.
"It's definitely the way he approaches the game. Fooling him sometimes, you really can't. Sometimes, you're gonna be in great position, and it's still gonna be a completion and you gotta be okay with that. Don't get discouraged. He just throws places that you just can't get an interception off of," said Douglas.

The 40-year-old Rodgers has been banged up of late. He landed on the injury report again this week but has been given the green light for the important Week 6 divisional home game.
The Jets (2-3) welcome the Bills (3-2) to MetLife Stadium on October 14 for an 8:15 pm ET kickoff with first place in the AFC East on the line.
