The New York Giants (1-3) are looking for any semblance of hope to salvage the season following another rough start.
Things won't get much easier in Week 5 when the Giants travel west to visit the Seattle Seahawks (3-1) at Lumen Field.
Though the Seahawks endured their first loss of the season in a wild 42-29 defeat against the Detroit Lions on Monday night, they look like one of the more complete teams in the NFL.
The defense is thriving under new head coach Mike Macdonald, and Geno Smith is once again proving to be a solid option under center.
The Giants open the week as 6.5-point road underdogs against the Seahawks, which makes it easy to guess how the NFL experts are feeling about this matchup.
NFL picks, predictions Week 5: Giants vs. Seahawks
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Seahawks 28, Giants 20
Bender: "The pressure is on Daniel Jones for a Giants' team that generated 18 points per game the past three weeks in a series of one-score games. Seattle is coming off a short week, but Geno Smith has managed to stay on schedule at quarterback with first-year coach Mike Macdonald. The Giants are 2-8 S/U and 4-6 ATS in their past 10 games as a road underdog under Brian Daboll. "
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Seahawks 27, Giants 17
Iyer: "The Giants are on the brink of benching Daniel Jones, and there's a chance it happens here in a hostile environment with former Seahawk Drew Lock being the No. 2. But their limited, compressed offense is in trouble regardless, as the Seahawks will step on the gas and be able to jump out to a fast start with big plays passing and running. Seattle will contain the run and be able to pressure Jones and/or Lock into mistakes."
Jeremy Cluff, USA Today Sports: Seahawks, 27, Giants 17
Cluff: "Malik Nabers has been impressive, but we don't think New York can keep up with the Seahawks in Seattle."
Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: Seahawks 24, Giants 13
Johnson: "The Seattle Seahawks defense under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald is one of the biggest stories in the NFL right now. After fielding one of the worst defenses in 2023, Seattle’s defense is thriving this season. That’s bad news for Daniel Jones, especially since this Seahawks offense should have no trouble exploiting the Giants’ secondary."
Ben Rolfe, Pro Football Network: Seahawks 23, Giants 20
Rolfe: "The Seahawks are not a team I want to be laying 6.5 points with, but they should be better than the Giants. Teasing Seattle to -0.5 is my play as of Monday morning."
