The New England Patriots are currently traveling to New Jersey ahead of their matchup against the New York Jets on Thursday night, but before the two teams kick off at MetLife Stadium, there have been some roster changes.
New England announced on Wednesday that they've signed defensive end Jamree Kromah off of the Chicago Bears practice squad and placed linebacker Oshane Ximines on injured reserve.
Kromah, 24, played collegiately at both Rutgers (2018-21) and James Madison (2022-23). In his two years at James Madison, he appeared in 23 games, recording 81 tackles (26 for a loss), 14.5 sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent this offseason and landed on the practice squad after roster cuts.
Ximines, 27, played at Old Dominion (2014-18), where he was First-team All-Conference USA twice. He was a third-round pick of the New York Giants in the 2019 NFL draft. In his five seasons with New York, he appeared in 48 games, recording 71 tackles (nine for a loss), 24 quarterback hits, 6.5 sacks, six passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
New England signed Ximines this offseason, and he appeared in their first two games this season, recording one tackle before suffering a knee injury in Week 2. He'll now have to miss the next four games.
