The Denver Broncos will have a much different mix of players at the safety spot in 2024, which could be of concern to fans.
Gone are Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson. The team did sign Brandon Jones in free agency but guys like P.J. Locke and Caden Sterns (who missed about 99 percent of the 2023 season) will have to step up in a big way.
But there is a lack of experienced depth at the position and that could open the door for an undrafted player.

Denver Broncos undrafted rookie spotlight
Omar Brown began his college career at Northern Iowa before transferring to Nebraska and competing in the BIG 10 Conference. He didn't put up big stats there (only one interception) but he did gain great experience against some of the best competition in the country and he shows quality traits in his film.
Brown seems to possess a good football IQ for the safety position. On top of being a smart, reactive player, he does show good athleticism and should come to the league as a more-than-capable tackler.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had a fifth-round grade on him in the draft, so it seems the Broncos got terrific value by signing him as an undrafted free agent.
Chances to make final 53-man roster (1-10 scale): 5
Another 50/50 chance to make the final roster for an undrafted player, which we have seen a few times in this series. But Brown has the talent to make it as a back-end player if he can outperform guys like Delarrin Turner-Yell, JL Skinner, Keidron Smith, and Devon Key, none of which are guaranteed a spot on the roster.
Brown has NFL talent, it's just likely that it needs time to be refined. He has a chance to make the roster as a rookie if he stands out on special teams, but he will need to beat out either Skinner or Turner-Yell for that to happen.
