When the Denver Broncos kick off their preseason on the road against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, there will be plenty for Broncos Country to keep up with. But first things first, Broncos football is back!

Much of the attention will be focused on the quarterback position and though we will see all three quarterbacks in action, Jarrett Stidham will get the start

In the mix of players trying to make the 53-man roster, there will be several players with a lot to prove on Saturday night and the remainder of the preseason. These four players could gain the most in terms of realizing that goal.

4 Broncos with the most to gain vs. Colts

Devaughn Vele, Wide Receiver

Devaughn Vele has had one of the best camps of any player on the team and as a seventh-round pick, that's impressive. It will already be difficult for the team to cut him at this point but a strong preseason could make it impossible.

Thomas Incoom, Edge

Thomas Incoom made the team as an undrafted player last year and he has a chance to prove that was no fluke this year.

Without a star pass-rusher on this squad, he could solidify a place as a backup, especially since the team has already moved on from Ronnie Perkins.

JL Skinner, Saftey

There is no position on this team with more opportunity for a player to step up right now than at safety. JL Skinner was a rookie we didn't get to see much from last year but in year two, he has a chance to play a significant role.

He can start to show that in this game as the team will likely be without Brandon Jones and after recently releasing Caden Sterns, Skinner will see his number called.

Trenton Gill, Punter

There doesn't seem to be a leader in the punting competition between Riley Dixon and Trenton Gill, but the benefit of the doubt will likely go to Dixon as it is his job to lose.

Practice is one thing but the special teams coach is going to want to see some kicks in live action. This will be Gill's best chance to start to show he deserves to take the spot from Dixon.
