The Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have agreed on a four-year extension with $100 million in guaranteed money. The deal can be worth up to $136 million over the life of the contract.

Multiple reporters confirmed the news Monday afternoon. The deal, upon information and belief, will give Lamb a record $38 million signing bonus, the largest given to a wide receiver.

The contract has an annual average value of $34 million which would make him the second highest paid receiver in the game when the deal kicks in. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson signed a deal this offseason worth an annual average value of $35 million.

The wide receiver had held out of Dallas' training camp all preseason. He had repeatedly said he would not report without a new deal. He missed all of OTA's and mandatory minicamp. He also missed all three preseason games,

Earlier this month, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters he "didn't have any urgency to get it done." Lamb simply replied on social media with three letters, "LOL".

Shortly after the exchange, Jones became more forthright and said the Dallas Cowboys needed to have Lamb in camp. Last season, Lamb led the NFL with 1,749 yards on 135 receptions and scored 12 touchdowns.

There was hardly a doubt a deal would get done, it was just a question of when. Jones did say he believed Lamb would be available for the first game in September. Ultimately, he was correct. The Cowboys now just have to see what type of conditioning Lamb has been doing on his own.

Now that Lamb had to hold out to get his extension, Jones should worry about what kind of message that sends to quarterback Dan Prescott, who is playing in the final year of his contract. He was looking for an extension, somewhere in the range of Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa.

Jones has been silent on the topic and that cannot send the right message to Prescott, who reported to camp on time and has been involved in all preseason activities with the Cowboys.
