After a lot of speculation, the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a contract extension with superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson

It's a four-year, $140 million deal that will pay. him $35 million per year with $110 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This makes Jefferson the highest-paid wide receiver and highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, per Schefter.

The Vikings had been working on trying to get this deal done for some time, including general manager Kwesi Adofo Mensah calling Jefferson's contract situation a "Champagne problem." Well, the Vikings can now pop bottles since the deal has gotten done.

It's easy to see why the Vikings would want to retain Jefferson for the long haul. He ranked as the second-best player in the National Football League on three different lists, including amongst his peers in the NFL's top 100.

The deal will begin after his current rookie contract expires after the 2024 season, but what's important is that Jefferson will be signed with the team through the season.

Rejoice Vikings fans, the best non-quarterback in the National Football League isn't going to be playing his home games outside of Minnesota for a long time.
