The Detroit Pistons may not be sold on their star shooting guard Jaden Ivey, per Eric Pincus. However, Pincus says there is no compelling reason he will be moved, just a possibility.
“Some around the league speculate that the Pistons aren’t sold on Ivey, but there’s no compelling reason (yet) to think he’s moved. Instead, Detroit may be looking to move veterans to add young players and draft considerations. Several teams would be interested in Stewart, who has a friendly $60 million contract over the next four seasons (player option).”
In his two years in the NBA, Ivey has averaged 16 points, three and a half rebounds, four assists and almost a steal a game. He is young, shows a lot of potential, and still has time to grow.
As for the Pistons, they definitely shouldn’t shop him. If they can find a supporting cast for Cade Cunningham, Ivey, and Jalen Duren, in three or four years they may actually be good. If they trade their vets for picks, and then trade some of those picks for a great pick in this upcoming draft, they could be a great team in the future. All they need is something to click to make them a cohesive team.
