According to ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst, the Boston Celtics are the top offense in the NBA. The team is 4-0 in the preseason, and beat the Philadelphia 76ers, one of their top rivals in the East, by 50 points.
“I think this is the year Jaylen Brown goes over 50% from the field,” said Windhorst. “I could tell you that Jayson Tatum’s jumper looks better, he’s averaging over 40% [from 3pt range] in the preseason. But one of the reasons I’m so impressed with the Celtics? Their backups. Have you seen Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser shoot it in the preseason? They’re killing it!”
Last year, the Celtics were 64-18, and won the NBA Finals, and had one the premier offenses in the league. They had the best offense ever that year too, with a season offensive rating of 123.2.
It looks like this year the Celtics are trying to find a way to break the record they just set with an even more efficient and powerful offense.
The Celtics play their final preseason game tomorrow against the Toronto Raptors at 7pm EST.
