The field facing the New York Yankees in the Juan Soto sweepstakes continues to grow larger.

While the Yankees are currently the favorites to re-sign Soto to a potentially historic contract, they know they will have some stiff competition from their crosstown rivals in the New York Mets.

But what about a team from their own division? It seems at least one of them will look to make a run at Soto.

With the postseason likely out of reach for the Toronto Blue Jays, it seems they have their sights set on putting themselves in the mix for Soto, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

"The Toronto Blue Jays and perhaps the San Francisco Giants will at least make an attempt," Nightengale wrote.

Even with a solid core of young talent, it seems unlikely the Blue Jays will be the ones to land Soto. But that doesn't mean they won't try.

Adding Soto to a core that includes Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette and George Springer would give the rest of the division nightmares.

Re-signing Soto is the main priority for the Yankees this offseason even if it means doling out a contract worth $50 million per year.

Seeing what this Yankees lineup looks like with Soto hitting in front of Aaron Judge, the fanbase may just burn down The Bronx if the 25-year-old doesn't return.

If he went to a division rival? All bets are off.
