There are a few former Boston Red Sox players managing teams in the MLB, including Alex Cora, Kevin Cash, Rocco Baldelli, Mark Kotsay, Bob Melvin and Dave Roberts, and now there's another joining the ranks.
On Thursday, the Chicago White Sox fired manager Pedro Grifol in the middle of his second season with the team and replaced him with Grady Sizemore in an interim capacity.
Sizemore, 42, was a three-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner during his 10-year MLB career.
He joined the Red Sox in 2014 after spending his first eight seasons with Cleveland and missing the next two years due to injury. He appeared in 52 games with the team, hitting just .216 with a .612 OPS. two home runs, 15 RBIs and six stolen bases.
Boston released him in the middle of the 2014 season, and he finished his career with short stints with the Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays.
