The Boston Red Sox’s playoff odds are now half of what they were from the All-Star Break, per Chris Cotillo. At the break, they had a 52.4% chance to make the playoffs. As of now, they have a 28.6% chance.

The Sox are 12-16 since the All-Star Break, and most of that can be attributed to late game pitchers blowing games. The starters would usually have a good game, but then the bullpen would come in, and the Sox would lose their lead or the game would go from competitive to a total loss.

The Sox still have 37 games to play this season with a 65-58 record. They are only 3.5 games behind the last wild card spot, so if they can win a few of these upcoming series, they definitely can get right back in the race.

The Sox will continue their playoff hunt tonight in their second game against the Houston Astros to tie the series at 8:10pm EST.
