The Boston Red Sox were able to beat the Houston Astros 6-5, the first time this season. This was also the first win in eight games.

For tonight’s pitching, the starter was actually the problem. Nick Pivetta, who’s known for his hot and cold streaks, has definitely been on a cold streak. Through five innings, he gave up five runs. This is also his fifth consecutive start with multiple home runs given up. The bullpen was surprisingly solid this game, as from the sixth on they didn’t give up a run.

The offense was great once again, scoring three runs in the first inning from the first three batters, with doubles by Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu, and a home run by Triston Casas, his first since returning from injury.

Duran had another RBI with a single, and so did Casas to make the game 5-4 Sox. Finally, Duran hit a solo homer to add another RBI to his stats, and it won the game.

The rubber match for the series will be tomorrow at 2:10pm EST.
