Updated Fantasy Football QB Rankings 2024: Best quarterbacks, top sleepers, and breakouts in drafts image

One of the great things about fantasy football is that it is ever-evolving. New fantasy managers are competing every year. The skillsets of the players seem to be advancing every year. So that means every draft season is evolving as well.

Rushing quarterbacks have always been incredibly valuable when it comes to fantasy football, but there used to only be a smattering of effective mobile signal callers. Now there are more than ever, and because of that, the strategies around drafting quarterbacks continue to evolve as well.

This season, five of the top-7 quarterbacks are considered rushing quarterbacks: Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Anthony Richardson, and Kyler Murray. There are also plenty of quarterbacks in the middle tier that may not be considered rushing quarterbacks but carry some rushing upside nonetheless: Jordan Love and Dak Prescott to name a couple. And then there's rookie Jayden Daniels who can do plenty of damage with his legs but brings with him the questions that come along with being a rookie thrown right into the fire.

DOMINATE YOUR DRAFT: 2024 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet

So, what does all this mean? It's actually great news for fantasy managers because it means you can be flexible when it comes to the QB position. If you go into a draft targeting a Lamar Jackson or a Patrick Mahomes but miss out because you're at the turn and there was a mini QB run at the other end of the draft board, there's no need to panic. You can add more RB or WR value to your squad and target Jordan Love or wait until even later in the draft and grab Brock Purdy. Essentially, you can let the board come to you when it comes to QB and not have to reach for a favorite target.

Fantasy football QB rankings: Best quarterbacks for 2024 drafts

It's probably not much of a surprise that Josh Allen is the No. 1 QB, but at what cost? FantasyPros' Consensus ADP for Allen is 19 - which means he's being drafted towards the middle or end of the second round in most drafts. That's a hard pass. The drop off from Allen to Jackson isn't massive, but Jackson has an ADP of 32, which is a much better values.

Kyler Murray can be had over 25 picks later, or you can wait until late in the draft and still land Matthew Stafford who will be throwing to Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp as QB17 in our rankings (QB19 in ADP), a whopping 63 picks later. The talent pool of the QB position leaves you with plenty of options when you're on the clock.

Notable changes in Quarterback rankings

There weren't many significant changes within the quarterback rankings coming out of cut-down day for NFL teams. With CeeDee Lamb ending his holdout after receiving a new contract, we flipped Dak Prescott ahead of Jordan Love.

Also, given the murkiness of Deshaun Watson's sore arm, we knocked him down three spots, which in turn led to Aaron Rodgers, Will Levis, and Baker Mayfield jumping up one spot each. The Browns also made sure to keep all four of their quarterbacks, at least for the time being, which gave added reason for concern.
