NRL referees: Match officials for every game in Round 10

A weekend of controversy in Round 9 has led to NRL CEO Andrew Abdo to leap to the defence of the game's match officials. 

Kasey Badger came under particular fire during the feisty Tigers and Bulldogs clash, with the ref eventually sending David Klemmer to the sin-bin for dissent as the Tigers finished with 11 players. 

"We have seen several close and exciting games this round and this year, with record engagement from fans," Abdo said.

"The referees are the most scrutinised individuals in the game. Their performance is analysed and assessed individually and collectively in a highly technical manner by the NRL.

"They are highly capable, elite performers making complex decisions in real time under fatigue," Abdo continued. 

"Occasionally, because they’re humans, they make mistakes. Referees deserve respect and support, from grassroots to elite, and they will always have that from me and the game.

Liam Kennedy's decision to not award a penalty try to Dallin Watene-Zelezniak while in the Bunker caused plenty of debate and Chris Butler's decision to award Phillip Sami a try also caused confusion.

Both officials are out of the Bunker this week, with Adam Gee and Peter Gough assigned two games each in the box. 

Ziggy Przeklasa-Adasmki has been handed the whistle for the Titans and Knights game.

Wyatt Raymond is also back in charge of a match, while Todd Smith will act as a touch judge in two games.
