WWE Summerslam provokes AEW superstar to make real life request of Tony Khan for Rhea Ripley image

The events of Summerslam 2024 were so devastatingly impactful that the WWE is sending waves onto the shores of even its rival promotion, AEW. For it is there that the real life husband of Rhea Ripley resides, namely Buddy Matthews, and he didn’t exactly appreciate the latest pivot in Mami’s storyline with WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio.

On Saturday, in Cleveland, Dom reminded everyone he is indeed “Dirty” and cost Ripley the match against Morgan, supposedly unintentionally, only to reveal by way of a deep kiss to Morgan that it was all just a part of the plan.

“TK, can I help Mami real quick?” Matthews wrote on social media after the betrayal, aiming his request at AEW owner Tony Khan.

Don’t plan on it happening, mind you, but it’s wildly entertaining to see kayfabe that is so dramatic it spills over into real life emotions. Matthews had his chance at helping his wife when he could’ve returned to WWE in 2024, but he instead opted to sign a contract extension with AEW.

As such, he’s just gotta keep watching from the sidelines to see what happens next.
