WWE NXT (September 10 episode) Preview, Match Card, Results: Giulia's debut, 3 titles on line image

WWE Week continues. After an explosive Monday Night Raw that saw the return of Bret Hart to the universe along with title defenses, submissions and disqualifications, the calendar turns to WWE NXT. The up-and-comers enjoyed a ridiculously productive summer, with PLEs Heatwave and No Mercy bringing their brand to unforeseen popularity. One of the biggest factors is the fans being attracted to the numerous draws on the women's side of the competition, and Tuesday night will bring one more log to the flame.

After being teased at No Mercy and in last week's episode, Guilia is set to make her in-ring debut. Just who is Guilia? Find out more here. She's hardly the only headliner here, though, as a serious grudge match between Trick Williams and the go-anywhere WWE plot boy, Pete Dunne. Williams has already dropped a banger in a diss track to Dunne, and now the two are going for Round 2 after they were both counted out the ring last week. Now it's a Last Man Standing match which should be entertaining.

The tag-team championships are on the line, and under-age phenom Je'Von Evans gets his shot at the Heritage Cup. All this and more is taking place. Check the roster of matches and appearances below.

Date: Tuesday, September, 10 2024

Match Results

Nathan Frazier & Axiom (c) vs Street Profits for NXT Tag-Team Championship

This match was supposed to be with the Rascals, but medical reasons had them bow out. In steps the Street Profits, former NXT Tag champs and two-time WWE tag champs. It was everything anyone could hope for. The crowd serenaded them with Welcome Back chants and the high flyers were electric. Just when it looked like the belts were going to change hands after landing a Super Blockbuster- interference.. it's The Bloodline! Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu on NXT! They wreck shop, causing a disqualification as they took out both teams.

Giulia vs Chelsea Green

Giulia has arrived, making her debut in NXT. We get our first look at the Spider Web, a submission move where Giulia is wrapped around Green's back with her upper body pulling her arm and legs wrapped around her neck. Green gets to the ropes and eventually takes control landing a mean German suplex and then a facebuster. Maybe a ref botch, looked like Giulia was late getting her shoulder up before the three-count. Interesting slam when Giulia holds Green by the hair and slams her on the floor. Green sends her to the announcer's table twice and then throws her over it. Green misses the Missle Dropkick and Giulia hits her with a vicious knee. She hits her with the Northen Lights Bomb, and it's a three count for the win by pinfall.

Charlie Dempsey (c) vs Je'Von Evans for Heritage Cup (British Rules)

No pinfall in Round 1, but Dempsey is able to get the advantage in Round 2 and earn the pinfall. Evans lands a pinfall after a 720 from the top rope to end Round 3. Round 4 stars with Evans attacking immediately, charging before the bell sounded. Dempsey lands a couple neckbreakers aand then locks in a body scissors that Evans breaks with a powerful suplex. Dempsey holds the submission beyond the bell and needs to be broken up. Round 5, Dempsey gets help from Tavion Heights while Wren Sinclair has the ref distracted and NQCC escapes with the Heritage Cup after being disqualified.

Oba Femi vs Hammerstone

The Don wanted revenge for the damage Femi has done against his faction and bought Hammerstone to try and turn the tide.

Hammerstone landed a Chokeslam, but then Femi just takes over - tossing Hammerstone high in the air multiple times before the final PowerBomb. Pinfall.

Ridge Holland vs Duke Hudson

The two big boys from Chase U go at it after the way Holland turned on the faction at No Mercy. Ridge is trying to prove (in my estimation) he's evolved to be in the championship picture, perhaps aimed at Femi. Massive strength, but a couple awkward misses. He nails a redeemer and it's a wrap. Pinfall.

Jordynne Grace vs Sol Ruca for TNA Women's Championship (Open Challenge)

Great call by NXT as Sol is in the same deserving category as Jaida Parker for a much bigger profile. It's a power vs athleticism matchup as Ruca's high fling act had to overcome Brace's ring savvy. Ruca hit a high cross body off the top rope but Grace caught her, but Ruca turned it into a DDT and a pin attempt. After Grace kicked out right before three, ends up landing a Grace Under Pressure but Ruca kicks out. Ruca counters a Juggernaut attempt, climbs the top rope but Grace takes her down with a SOS. The lights go out and Wendy Choo and Rosemary are in the ring and put Grace to sleep. Sloppy transition to say the least, the crowd was very confused.

Trick Williams vs Pete Dunne for shot at World Title

A continuation of last week's match where both wrestlers were counted out, now in a Last Man Standing match. There were a couple times when each wrestler, in ring, came close to the 10-count. The match got interesting when it spilled into the stands. The key mooment was when, up on a platform, Dunne took Williams down to the floor. Ethan Page, the title holder who would face the winner, showed up and tried to get Dunne to rise, but it was Williams who got up before the 10-count and won the match.
