NXT has been cooking for the last several months as the feeder brand to Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown continues to be cheffed up to perfection by Shawn Michaels. As the promotion nears it's move from the USA Network to CW in October, the meals ingredients continue to be mixed together in great fashion and two key ones are getting a chance to claim thrones.
TNA crossover sensation Joe Hendry and WWE NXT's own Jaida Parker have arrived and due to victory in multi-wrestler matches on Tuesday night's edition, have earned shots at titles.
Hendry was involved in a three-way No. 1 contender match with Pete Dunne and Wes Lee, after the three tussled the week prior. With champion Ethan Page sitting by ringside, Hendry put himself into position multiple times with Page keeping the referee from counting pinfalls. Actually multiple referees, but eventually Hendry emerged victorious.
Parker entered a six-woman gauntlet match as the final participant with three other wrestlers remaining. She dispatched of Kendall Grey right before Sol Ruca hit Wren Sinclair with a Sol Snatcher to eliminate her via pinfall. After the two locked up with a few violent exchanges, Parker unleashed her Hip-Notic attack, taking out the last remaining competitor.
Now she's in line to challenge Roxanne Perez, who has reigned as the WWE NXT Women's champ for over 130 days.
NXT No Mercy will take place on September 1, a day after WWE's Bash in Berlin.
