WWE Bash in Berlin PLE 2024 Preview, Full Match Card, Results image

The WWE has gone international once again, with the next Premium Live Event taking place on the European continent with the Bash in Berlin. Following the huge success of both Clash at the Castle (Scotland) and Money in the Bank (Toronto), and ahead of Survivor Series (Vancouver), Paul Levesque has made it clear his intent to expand the promotion to a more global market.

The second PLE of August (there's nothing in September just by how the calendar falls) will feature the latest evolutions of the many storylines coming out of SummerSlam.

Up until the day before the event, there's no sign of the Bloodline, though the faction is in Europe. For now, here's the match card.

Match Previews

Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens for WWE Undisputed Championship

Matchup History: Rhodes 3-1 across single, tag matchups

Rhodes and Owens will square off for the WWE Undisputed Championship as the two friends have had growing tension over the last month. They had been intertwined in the Bloodline storyline ever since Rhodes took the title off of Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 40 in April. Owens has been on a losing trend for 2024 and initially turned down the offer of a shot at the title by Rhodes because of it. Eventually convinced, he's seemed to be a bit ticked off that other wrestlers are echoing his sentiment that he's unworthy.

They've almost come to blows each week on SmackDown, including Friday night's promo where Rhodes asked of Owens if they'd still be friends after Rhodes wins, to which Owens walked out on the in-ring conversation.

Owens hasn't held a championship belt in over a year and hasn't held a singles title since losing the US Championship to AJ Styles back in July 2017. Is now his time?

Rhodes has been on an unbelievable heat streak in solo competition. currently riding a 37-match win streak dating back to February. He's successfully defended the belt over and over since Finishing the Story but all good things must come to an end. Will the hourglass empty?

Gunther (c) vs Randy Orton for WWE Heavyweight Championship

Matchup History: Gunther 1-0 across single, tag matchups

Two of the most skilled, best technical wrestlers to grace the squared circle enter each other's orbit on Saturday as Randy Orton looks to take the WWE Heavyweight championship off of Gunther's waist at the premiere of WWE Bash in Berlin. Ever since Gunther defeated Damian Priest at SummerSlam, Orton's had the Austrian in his crosshairs, and now he travels to the King of the Ring's backyard to see if he can pry the gold away from him.

Things turned personal a couple of weeks ago when he two had an in-ring promo and Gunther denigrated Orton's family tree, and The Viper delivered an RKO to set the tone for the oncoming battle, a rematch to the match they had earlier when a referee botch gave Gunther the KotR title that earned him the automatic challenge that he cashed in on. Now Orton gets the shot he was robbed of.

Unholy Union vs Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair for WWE Women's World Tag Championship

Clash at the Castle crowned Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn in a three-way tag match, but it was without pinning either member of the championship duo. UU has done a tour of all of the brands, as WWE only has one tag title across blue, red and gold. Belair and Cargill are on a mission to get the belts back home and their dominating power looks like the other side will need to continue using cheat tactics to stand a chance.
