If you tuned into SmackDown this week, you might feel as if, at the end of the show, you were watching a rerun of last week’s episode, more or less. It featured Cody Rhodes being manhandled yet again by Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and The Bloodline — Rhodes’ wife fed up with this part of the storyline being put on repeat.

It’s as if it’s the song “Baby Shark” that’s become stuck in the head of WWE creative for the latest version of the Bloodline saga.

This time around it was Kevin Owens in attendance to try and help Rhodes, returning from aiding his ill mother in Canada, only for her (as well) to watch her loved one brutalized by the Bloodline; and with no one coming out to even the odds ahead of Summerslam.

There are two more episodes of SmackDown left before the premium live event in Cleveland on Aug. 3, and Rhodes is hoping for a plot twist that gives her husband, the WWE Champion, a shot at evening the odds.

It’s not as if the Rhodes haven’t been here before though, and though it took a while, they were the last ones left standing at this past Wrestlemania — Universal Title in hand.
