The San Francisco 49ers have one of the most well-built rosters on paper in football.
San Francisco is loaded with star power throughout the franchise and somehow has some cap space and could add even more to the team. The 2024 National Football League trade deadline is just over a month away and will pass on Nov. 5.
The 49ers very well could be busy ahead of it and already have been loosely linked to a few players. Trade chatter already has started to pick up, with Las Vegas Raiders superstar Davante Adams looking to be moved.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox put together a list of possible proposals to land Adams and surprisingly mentioned San Francisco.
"49ers Get: (wide receiver) Davante Adams," Knox said. "Raiders Get: (wide receiver) Brandon Aiyuk. The 49ers ended up signing Aiyuk to an extension worth $30 million annually after they failed to orchestrate a trade. San Francisco's desire, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, was to get another receiver in return for Aiyuk.
"Given Aiyuk's struggles during the early season—he has 13 catches for 167 yards—the 49ers may already regret paying him. In this hypothetical scenario, they flip Aiyuk for Adams, who might give San Francisco a better chance of winning now. While this hypothetical trade wouldn't net Las Vegas draft compensation, it would give the Raiders a 26-year-old receiver who is under contract long-term and who has flashed elite traits in the past."
This is a fun idea, and it would be nice to have Adams in San Francisco, but it should be considered extremely unlikely. Aiyuk just signed his massive deal with the 49ers. It would be shocking to see the team trade him just four games later. Adams is one of the best receivers in football and could even be worth it, but it shouldn't be considered likely by any means.
