2025 NFL mock draft: Eagles select Ohio State pass rusher No. 27 overall image

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made a bold move this offseason, essentially replacing star EDGE Haason Reddick with Bryce Huff, who was more of a situational pass rusher during his time with the New York Jets

In his latest way-too-early 2025 mock draft, Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News has Roseman and the Eagles targeting more pass rush help in the latter stages of the first round.

Iyer recently mocked 6-foot-4, 270-pound EDGE J.T. Tuimoloau of Ohio State to Philadelphia with the No. 27 overall pick. Here was his reasoning:

Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham are free agents in 2025, and newcomer Bryce Huff will need some help with the pass-rush rotation continuing to be rebuilt. They can bring along this flashy prospect well in situational play to be productive like Haason Reddick once was for them.

With Brandon Graham entering his 15th NFL season with the Eagles, the need for depth at EDGE could be glaring entering the 2025 offseason. Tuimoloau represents a solution to that problem. He earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2023 after notching 38 tackles — including seven for loss — with five sacks. Citing "a sense of unfinished business, and an unbreakable bond with my Buckeye brothers," in a social media post, he joined draft-eligible Ohio State defenders such as defensive end Jack Sawyer, cornerback Denzel Burke and defensive tackle Tyleik Williams in spurning the pros for another season with the Buckeyes.

After an offseason that saw Roseman load up on offensive talent, highlighted by signing star running back Saquon Barkley in free agency, it would make some sense for the defense to be the focal point in 2024.
