A slew of NFL teams made post-cut down day waiver wire claims on Wednesday, forcing another round of roster cuts around the league.
Among those released was a former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles, who had just made the Patriots initial 53-man roster the day prior.
Wide receiver Jalen Reagor, the No. 21 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, is among those looking for a job after the Patriots added four players via waivers. The writing might have been on the wall after New England left NFL cut-down day with seven wide receivers.
Reagor, 25, appeared in 11 games for New England, catching seven passes for 138 yards and serving as the team's kick returner; he brought one of his seven returns back for a touchdown.
The former TCU star never caught on in his two seasons in Philly, catching 72 total passes for 799 yards and four touchdowns in 45 games. He was traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 2022.
Unfortunately, Reagor is famous in Philadelphia for all the wrong reasons. He was drafted one pick before Justin Jefferson went off the board to the Vikings. Ouch.
It’s possible Reagor, who re-signed with the Patriots back in March, could remain in Foxboro on the Patriots’ practice squad. The Eagles, meanwhile, were not among the 16 NFL teams to put a waiver claim in Wednesday.
