Who plays on 'Thursday Night Football' tonight? Time, TV channel, schedule for NFL Week 1 image

For the second consecutive year, the NFL rings in a new season at Arrowhead Stadium with the defending Super Bowl champion in action.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are set to battle Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on 'Thursday Night Football' in the first NFL game of the year, which also happens to be a rematch of last season's AFC Championship Game.

Kansas City embarks on a rigorous quest to win three consecutive Super Bowls, a feat no team has accomplished. In fact, no franchise in 'Big Four' professional sports has executed a three-peat since the Lakers won three straight NBA titles from 2000-02.

Last year, the Ravens advanced past the Divisional Round for the first time in five seasons with Jackson under center. Now, as Baltimore eyes its first Super Bowl appearance since winning it all in 2012, the road begins with a shot at revenge. Last year, the Chiefs stormed into Baltimore and trumped the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, 17-10.

It's a star-studded way to kick off this year's Thursday Night Football slate, which will highlight 17 games throughout the 2024 NFL season.

The Sporting News has you covered with all that you need to know about the Week 1 Thursday Night Football game.
