The Tennessee Titans will begin training camp this week, with players reporting on Tuesday and taking the practice field on Wednesday. The team will see several competitions for key roles, with the most notable being at right guard and tackle.
Titans head coach Brian Callahan addressed the media on Tuesday and confirmed that there will be competitions at those two spots. Of course, the Titans are set at the other three positions with JC Latham at left tackle, Peter Skoronski at left guard and Lloyd Cushenberry at center.
While he didn't go into specifics about who is in the running for the right guard and right tackle roles, Callahan did say that the battles will last through camp and the final decision may not be made until the beginning of the regular season.
#Titans' Callahan: Right side of line will be real position battles, will likely go the length of training camp. Might not announce starter until opening game.

At right guard, Saahdiq Charles, Dillon Radunz and Daniel Brunskill are all slated to compete for the starting job. At right tackle, Nicholas Petit-Frere, who will have a short stay on the PUP list to open camp, figures to be the favorite. Jaelyn Duncan, John Ojukwu and Leroy Watson could also be in the mix.
When it comes to the running back position, it has been assumed all offseason long that Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears would split work evenly. Callahan says that is basically how he expects things to go.
Brian Callahan said he doesn't view Tyjae Spears or Tony Pollard as the starting running back. He's not putting much stock in who starts. He likes both of them and is excited about deploying both of them in many ways.

Another notable battle set to take place is for the backup quarterback spot, which will see a competition between Malik Willis and Mason Rudolph, with the latter entering camp as the favorite after he had a better showing during the offseason program. Callahan says the signal-callers will split reps evenly in camp.
.@Titans QBs Mason Rudolph and Malik Willis will have reps split evenly, and both will be given a chance to win No.2 job, Callahan said

This is a crucial training camp and preseason for Willis, who has had a terrible start to his career over two seasons. If he fails to beat out Rudolph, that could spell the end to his days in Nashville.
